FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Contact: Eric Colleary Director, Dante Project (614)487-8551 colleary.1@osu.edu http://dante.lawks.com Columbus, Ohio, December 29, 2004 – Word has officially been received that the Dante Project at the Ohio State University has won an undergraduate research scholarship award of $1,050 from the College of the Arts honors program. The application for the award was submitted November 1 and consisted of a personal statement, project summary, research procedures, anticipated results, a list of proposed sources, a preliminary budget, a tentative schedule of events and a letter of reference. Dr. Lesley Ferris, chair of the Department of Theatre at OSU, served as referee and Dr. Joy Reilly, professor and honors advisor in the department, signed as project advisor. The award is distributed in two equal portions over winter and spring quarters of 2005. In return for the award, a copy of the final research thesis must be submitted to the College of the Arts Honors office upon completion. The Dante Project is an exploration of how various forms of multimedia can be used along side theatre for social change using the Inferno of Dante Alighieri as a foundation for our work. Through weekly workshops, we investigate questions that lead to the discovery of a variety of solutions to challenges that commonly arise when mounting a theatre production. - END - |
